Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actress and singer is a former model. The actress was the co-star of Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain, and the singer for the girl band Apollonia 6 Apollonia was named a female singer and actress by Prince. Through the 1980s she was among many other artists that benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her first professional venture was as a model during the latter part of 1970. Also, she made an appearance on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead of Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at the time he changed his name). The same year, she was replaced by Vanity as a member of the group Vanity 6 as well as performed alongside the group under the name Apollonia 6 in the film. Sex Shooter was a minor hit for the group, but she had a bigger impact as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero broke up with Prince after the two fell apart over the direction of Apollonia 6. The actress appeared in several smaller films, like Purple Rain's sequel Under the Cherry Moon (which she declined) after which she was offered the lead role as Falcon Crest on the Night-Time drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally launch her debut album in the year 1988. However, the album didn't leave a lasting impression with music fans and she soon faded off the music scene. She continued acting (if somewhat under the radar) in the next decade. Small TV appearances, minor films, and exercise videos kept her active. Apollonia released a CD in Spanish and English named Stay With Me in 1997. After returning to university and receiving the degree of a bachelor in filmmaking. Then she established her own business.
