Carey, a former high fashion model, who measures at almost 5'10" was well-liked by American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was an eminent geoscientist and was awarded the title of Scientist of 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his career Carey was raised all over the globe. While she was at in the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris prior to returning back to New York. Her modeling and academic career rocketed and she was featured on Glamour's, Vogue's and many other magazine covers. She studied full-time at New York University, obtaining the degree in Literature, which she earned while working on modeling assignments. While she was studying acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse, New York and began to become interested in acting increased. In 1986, she made her debut as an actor with a small part on the show "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams. She loves rock climbing as well as skiing and windsurfing.
