AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division for professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was co-captained the American women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan, then 22 years old, was the youngest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
